Megan Hutchinson

Megan Hutchinson is a proud mother of two fur babies and a third-generation educator who has been helping students achieve greatness for over 20 years.

Megan started her education journey early, growing up at her grandfather’s knee as he taught high school English, made up fantastic stories, and fostered a love for reading. As a child, she consumed books the same way other children ate candy. Megan has always been involved with teaching the world around her, but she really wanted to help those that struggled with reading.

As early as second grade, Megan was helping students with visual and processing disorders succeed in the classroom. From copying the blackboard onto paper with colored ink to reading out loud to other students, she made sure her classmates had the opportunity to progress. She continued to tutor students throughout her high school academic career by working with college students on their research papers and taking international students under her wing. After high school, Megan volunteered with a literacy group focused on students reading below grade level in socioeconomically disadvantaged areas.

In college, she became a peer tutor and found her calling. As she worked with students who struggled with basic math and reading skills, Megan developed a passion for helping students with differences and disabilities. After graduating, she returned to basic skills tutoring full-time and also started working with visually impaired students. Fully focused on developmental skills and disability services, she continued working with some of her initial students through their master’s degree while also teaching developmental reading and writing. Later, Megan was the lead English Tutor at a large community college where she worked across disciplines with students of all nationalities and abilities and volunteered with the International Conversation Club.

Megan now runs her own education service with an emphasis on neurodivergent students based in Denton, Texas. She offers homeschooling education and after-school tutoring. Megan works extensively with students on the autism spectrum, as well as students of all ages with a variety of processing disorders, including dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia.
